Nicola Triscott - DirectorNicola Triscott is a cultural producer, working in the performing, interdisciplinary and visual arts. She founded The Arts Catalyst in 1993. As Director of Arts Catalyst, she has built alliances internationally between disciplines and commissioned more than 60 art projects. Nicola writes and speaks regularly at international conferences on the interrelationships between art, science, technology and society. She is currently the NESTA Arts & Environment Fellow on the Clore Leadership Programme. After studying physics at Imperial College and geography at University College London, Nicola worked in theatre production, arts policy and management, and as a freelance arts consultant. Prior to setting up Arts Catalyst, she was working and researching in southern, central and east Africa. Rob La Frenais is a curator and critic who has curated and produced interdisciplinary and visual art projects since 1987. Before joining The Arts Catalyst, he was a freelance curator and organiser working in a European context in various countries, including being the Chief Executive of the Edge Biennale Trust in London and Madrid and the Artistic Director of the Belluard-Bollwerk International in Switzerland. In 1979 Rob founded the groundbreaking Performance Magazine, which continued as an authoritative cultural voice in Europe until 1992. He has a PhD in curatorial practice across disciplines and is an honorary Doctor of Arts at Dartington College of Arts. After graduating from Edinburgh College of Art with a degree in painting, Gillean worked as an exhibitions assistant at Third Eye Centre, Glasgow before working in performing arts including as Administrator for Blast Theory and as a Producer for Imlata Dance Company and The People Show. Following this Gillean worked in the feature film industry including two years on the production team at Merchant Ivory Productions. Prior to that she held the post of Marketing and Communications Manager at the South London Gallery, and at arts advocacy group Artworkers Alliance in her home town of Brisbane, Australia. She also works with Maurice magazine (a contemporary arts magazine for children) as educational liaison officer. As a freelance artist and art teacher, she runs workshops in schools in and around London and shows her own work. Shiraz also shoots commercial photography. She graduated with a BA in Fine Art from Middlesex in 2002. Shiraz is on maternity leave until mid-2009. Her post is being covered by Lala Thorpe.
