ECOLOGY & ENVIRONMENT

We have an interest in artists' projects that intersect with ecological investigations and environmental issues. Many of our projects in this area have had a participatory and educational aspect to them. They include:

Polar: The Art & Science of Climate Change is a
programme focusing on the curation and production of climate change knowledge in the polar regions, including two new artists' commissions, an interdisciplinary symposium, series of public talks and a publication.

Tomas Saraceno's Poetic Cosmos of the Breath was an experimental solar dome that was inflated by the warmth of the sun at dawn.

Malamp, Brandon Ballengée
During 2007 and 2008, artist Brandon Ballengée has been leading a UK study into declining amphibian species, through participatory lab and field-based research investigations, working with the public as well as collaborating scientists. Ballengée's investigations are being enabled by residencies at Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Gunpowder Park, Essex, and SPACE, London.

Ecology Action Research
