Chris Welch
Dr Chris Welch is Director of Masters Programs at the International Space University, Strasbourg where he lectures and researches in astronautics and space engineering. He chairs the Space Education Trust, is a Director of the World Space Week Association and in 2009 was given the Sir Arthur Clarke Award for Space Education. Chris made his first TV broadcast when he was one of the final twenty candidates for the 1991 UK-USSR Juno space mission and has since become a frequent commentator on space. When not being an engineer, he takes idiosyncratic photographs, tries to write poetry and has authored what he believes may be the first-ever paper on extraterrestrial garden design.
