SIZED MATTER: Perception of the Extreme Unseen

An exhibition at the Art Gallery at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, Batavia outside Chicago, Illinois.  The exhibition is the result of several years of unique collaboration between renowned physicists Dr.Gordon Kane and Dr. David Gerdes, and industrial designer Jan-Henrik Andersen at the University of Michigan.

SEEKING SCIENTIST INTERVIEWS
for online project:
"RANDOMNESS AND CERTAINTY"
A year long project by artafterscience in collaboration with Barbara Zanditon who is conducting the interviews. Scientists are being asked: "How their work experience has affected their personal view and understanding of life?" and their audio answers are juxtaposed randomly with a variety of video clips and stills from science, technology, nature, and everyday life.
The piece will continue for approximately one year until the summer 2006, when a full screen installation version will be created.

It is a low tech, low cost, highly efficient hybrid rocket propulsion system, fueled by a mixture of polyethylene and laughing gas.
