Professor A A Singleton-Guinness, Jack Klaff

Jack Klaff

Imperial College, Sherfield Building, Exhibition Road, London

19/03/1994

In this one man show, Jack Klaff takes the guise of the unswervingly rationalist Professor AA Singleton-Guinness (winner of the Nobel Prize for keeping science unsullied by art).

Singleton-Guinnes launches a stinging attack on those "mystic scientists in thrall to the spooky concepts of holistic philosophy" and in this guise Klaff attempts to shows some of the consequences of taking a reductionist approach to logical yet absurd conclusions. "I want the audience to laugh," Klaff says of his virtuoso performance, "but I also want them to feel the coldness that can hang about rationality. They need to be chilled by the relentlessness of the Professor's 'Prove It' mentality."
